Sant'Elena: a totally different and unique place of Venice
If you’re considering a B&B in Venice, whether for a long or short vacation, with or without your family and kids, or for a business meeting, the BBvenezia | Bed and Breakfast Venezia | in Sant'Elena is the ideal location for an unforgettable stay in the heart of the lagoon city.

Compared with the image of Venice with which most people are familiar, the Sant'Elena district is a totally different and unique place. Here, the bustle of the busy downtown streets are replaced by painters with easels under their arms, local children playing in the street, and a truly authentic, peaceful part of Venice.

Sant'Elena is a secluded and peaceful corner of Venice that very few people know about, far from the madding crowd, yet just “a few waves” from Piazza San Marco and the Doge's Palace.
This is where the buzz of the "calli" dissolves seamlessly into the murmur of the lagoon and time is marked by gentle strolls among the trees of the Parco delle Rimembranze; here the BBvenezia | Bed and Breakfast Venezia | offers a haven of peace just a short walk from the Biennale Gardens.

Nested in the greenest part of the historic section of Venice, next to the gardens of the Biennale, the Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located at a pleasant 20 minutes walk from San Marco square (approximately 1,5 km), alternatively, the vaporetto (water bus - Venice public transportation) dock is 100 meters from the B&B. From here, St. Mark’s square is a short 5 minutes journey (San Zaccaria water-bus stop).

Should you choose to walk to your destination, the stroll along Riva degli Schiavoni is possibly one of the most scenic routes in Venice: it owes its name to the merchants from Dalmatia (Schiavonia) who, back in the days, upon docking on the south bank of Castello (a Venetian sestiere or quarter) would remain transfixed by the amazing views that to this day can still be enjoyed on this side of the island.

The most distinctive feature of the B&B location must however be the incredibly green area that surrounds the Bed & Breakfast Venezia in Sant’Elena, the largest one in Venice: it’s called Parco delle Rimembranze, and its majestic trees transform the island into a peaceful oasis and perfect playground for children. The whole little island of Sant’Elena is infused with peace and quiet, making it the perfect retreat after a day in the crowded city center. Across the bridge beyond the park, a short 5 minutes’ walk from the B&B, the Gardens of the Biennale are within easy reach.

Since there aren’t many bridges in Sant’Elena, the island is safely and easily accessible by guests. Its position at a higher level in the lagoon keeps it sheltered from the exceptional peaks of “acqua alta” (or high tide) which occur periodically in Venice.
With its strategic location in the center of Venice, the Bed and Breakfast Venezia, is also a great starting point to visit the nearby islands.

A small stretch of lagoon separates Sant’Elena from Venice Lido; 10 minutes ride on the waterbus will transport you to the glamorous land of the Film Festival, the Art Nouveau and the long walks on the golden sand.
